Viral marketing is a strategy that encourages people to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message’s exposure. Like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, to millions.A virus just replicates, again and again with increasing energy, doubling with each iteration:

A virus population can explode in a few short generations.Off the Internet, viral marketing has been referred to as “word-of-mouth,” “creating a buzz,” or “network marketing.” Soooo the employmint team tested the concept today… before launching the site to the general public we invited 10 people to the site and explained the concept and asked them to spend 10 minutes inviting friends to the site. The result was we had 80 new job seekers register on the site and 800 refers and additional R130,000 worth of rewards added to the site.

What exactly is a “Reward”?

To some it may be obvious but to allot of other people this whole “Reward” thing has created some confusion. Today I am going to make it as clear as possible. Firstly the Reward system is what sets employmint apart from all the other boring old job boards, we did not have to call it a Reward we could have called it a “Bounty” or a “Finders Fee” or a “Referral Fee” (Is it becoming any clearer what it is?)

No? ok, so as a recruitment agent, what is the first thing you ask a candidate you approach for a job, that is after they have told you they are not interested? Well in most cases you would ask them if they knew anyone who might be interested, right? Most candidates won’t give you any direct leads, however offer them a finder’s fee and they will spend the afternoon digging up the names and numbers of their colleagues and friends.

www.employmint.co.za is traditional job board with a spin, the spin being a system to manage these rewards and a tool to help you generate top quality leads through building an extended network of contacts, thus broadening your candidate reach.

I wish I knew a Senior Analyst SOX!

Not to be out done by Precision Appointments, recruitment company Top Search have just placed a R5000 bounty/reward for a Senior Analyst SOX. Now I’m not gonna pretend I know exactly what it is a Senior Analyst SOX does, but with a reward like that I sure wish I knew someone who was one! If you do, you better get that reference in quick!

It’s Alive! uh, I mean LIVE!

Wake up recruitment companies, the online recruitment business has just been flipped on its head! www.employmint.co.za just went live. A slightly bumpy GO LIVE, but a GO LIVE none the less.

So far the response from recruitment agencies have been excellent, thanks to everyone for there positive feedback and constructive suggestions for improvement. Our Dev team was up all night implementing a few of your suggestions (and fixing a few bugs) so it’s a new days with new features here at www.employmint.co.za
